Fifth Third Bank To Give Back And Create Awareness During SU2C Night at Victory Field
INDIANAPOLIS, July 31, 2015 – Since 2013, Fifth Third Bank has donated more than $4 million to Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C), a national cancer research organization. On Saturday, Aug. 1, Fifth Third and the Indianapolis Indians will celebrate the success of this partnership and raise additional support at Stand Up To Cancer Night at Victory Field.
As part of Stand Up To Cancer Night, Fifth Third will donate $100 to SU2C for every strikeout recorded by an Indians pitcher during the game. Fifth Third also donated 200 tickets to Riley Hospital for Children for cancer survivors, their families and caregivers, while also inviting a young cancer survivor out to throw a ceremonial first pitch.
“Fifth Third Bank is very proud of the great relationship we’ve formed with Stand Up to Cancer,” said Steven Alonso, president and CEO of Fifth Third, Greater Indiana. “Our Bank has always been focused on creating the greatest impact we can on the communities we serve. We are thrilled to be able to partner with the Indianapolis Indians for Stand Up to Cancer Night at Victory Field to celebrate our continued efforts to fund cancer research and encourage support for this tremendous cause.”
Fans also can get in on the action. Fifth Third will donate $1 for every photo or social media post using the hashtag #howifight. The campaign seeks to inspire people through social media by having users recognize those people or reasons that best represent the importance of supporting cancer research.
The game also will feature several SU2C giveaways for fans as well as a green screen photo booth and other interactive elements.
