INDIANAPOLIS, June 15, 2015 — Victory Field will transform into Gotham City when the Indianapolis Indians host Superhero Night on Saturday, June 27. Today, 12 days prior to this first-ever event, the Indians and corporate sponsors Elements Financial and Indy Tire threw a preview party for Riley kids in the Child Life Zone at Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health. This opportunity provided the patients and their families with a break from their rooms and routines to play games, make crafts, and spend time with the Indians and volunteers from event sponsors Elements and Indy Tire.
To kick off the party, a specialty Batman jersey was unveiled by outfielder Jaff Decker, third baseman Brett Morel, pitcher and Lafayette, Ind. native Clayton Richard, catcher Tony Sanchez and Rowdie. Players and mascot then interacted with Riley kids and their families at activity stations all with a superhero theme. The jerseys will be worn by the Indians and auctioned off throughout the game on Superhero Night with all funds going to Riley, the event beneficiary as chosen by Elements and Indy Tire.
Plans for Superhero Night include Batman descending to meet fans, take photos and sign autographs. A unique Superhero youth cape will be given away to the first 2,500 fans, ages 14 and younger. A special post-game fireworks show will be presented by Indy Tire and Elements. To purchase game tickets, visit www.RileyKids.org/SuperheroNight. Riley will receive $5 from each ticket sold. A sell-out crowd is expected, so please purchase your tickets soon.
