Front Office Staff Works To Revitalize Manual High School Baseball & Softball Fields

DoDay_MediaWallThe Indianapolis Indians front office staff is blessed to be able to come to work each day at at  the “Best Minor League Ballpark in America.” For Indy Do Day 2014, the Indians looked to bring a piece of Victory Field to the community by spending the day revitalizing the Manual High School baseball & softball fields.

Indy Do Day 4

With three-time Triple-A Groundskeeper of the Year, Joey Stevenson, coordinating the effort, Indians staff members cleaned up the playing surface, reworked the pitching mound and homeplate and both edged and dragged the infield.

Additional projects included replacing boards and bolts on the bleachers, cleaning out the dugouts and upgrading the outfield fence.

By day’s end, the hard work helped get the field back in playing condition and ready to host the IPS Middle School baseball finals the next day.

Said Arsenal Tech coach Josh Bowling, whose team plays its games on the renovated field, “The Indians have probably done more work to the field in two and half hours than we have been able to over the last five years.”
