The Indianapolis Indians partnered with Playball Indiana – Indy’s local chapter of the National RBI Program (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities) – on several exciting events/programs throughout the 2014 season. On multiple occasions, hundreds of PBI youth visited Victory Field thanks to the generosity of Regions Bank and participated in several once-in-a-lifetime behind the scenes and life-changing experiences at the ballpark.
Participants spent the morning at the ballpark touring the facility, taking batting practice at Victory Field’s indoor batting cages, met and posed for pictures with Indians players, and participated in a literacy presentation.
The experience of these several hundred kids comes to a climactic end with a return-trip to the ballpark to enjoy tonight’s Indians game against Louisville. Tickets were donated by Regions Bank.
“For Regions this program provided a great partnership opportunity to fulfill our mission which is to make life better for the communities we serve,” said Kim Borges, Regions Bank spokesperson. “This partnership was a prime way to do that and to get to interact with kids for several very rewarding days.”
