Day 22 of 25 Days of Giving: The Boys And Girls Clubs of Indianapolis

Each day, for 25 days during the month of December, the Indians will highlight one community partner organization and how you can give back this holiday season. For more information, visit the 25 Days of Giving main post.

Day 22: The Boys and Girls Clubs of Indianapolis

Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis believes that every young person deserves to live a life filled with hope and opportunity. Because we care about our young people, we provide a safe, educational and positive atmosphere where they can prosper and reach their full potential.

BGCI offers a comprehensive homework help and tutoring program, named Power Hour. Power Hour is designed to raise academic proficiency of Club members ages 6-18. Power Hour provides members with the support, resources and guidance necessary to complete their homework – and start the day with a sense of confidence and ability.

While educational services are a major part of what BGCI offers, the Clubs also offer a variety of resources such as healthy eating habits, character development and occasional field trips.

For so many of the children we serve in our Clubs, they have very few positive things in their life they can take for granted.  Many never get to go on fun outings with their families; many don’t have a coat to wear, or even adequate heat in their home.  Every child deserves to have some fun, to be able to keep warm on cold days, to be around adults who care and nurture them.

The Clubs do an excellent job in providing a safe, fun, caring place for these children to go to. With your help and support we can continue to provide them with the services these youth are desperately in need of.

Great Futures Start Here.
